AURSS00064 - Battery Electric Vehicle Inspection and Servicing Skill Set

This course is essential for businesses and staff aiming to upskill and gain hands-on experience with battery electric vehicle technology, positioning themselves to meet the growing demand for skilled BEV technicians.
This program also serves as a direct pathway to the MTA NSW and Employment Electric Vehicle Technician Program.
COURSE OUTLINE
All participants of this course will be required to demonstrate competency in:
- Safe work practices and electrical safety relevant to battery electric vehicles, including fundamental electrical principles such as AC and DC systems.
- Understanding the operation and components of electrical systems in battery electric vehicles.
- Compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, standards, and codes of practice relevant to working on battery electric vehicles.
- Understand high-voltage rechargeable energy storage systems (RESS) in battery electric vehicles.
- Understand auxiliary motors principles in battery electric vehicles.
- Servicing and maintaining electrical components in battery electric vehicles.
COURSE PREREQUISITES
This skill set is limited to those who have completed one of the following qualifications:
- AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent,
- AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent,
- AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent,
- AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, or equivalent. (Graduates of the EWP stream must have completed AURETR129 Diagnose and repair charging systems and AURETR130 Diagnose and repair starting systems).
On completion of the course, participants will be awarded AURSS00064 – Battery Electric Vehicle Inspection and Servicing Skill Set.

Course times: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Days: 3-day duration.
This course is held from Monday – Wednesday, delivered at My Trade Start Training Centre.
